❓Can you go out for the day and NOT take a photo on your phone?
❓Can you ‘experience’ something and NOT grab your phone and take a photo to remember it?
❓What's the longest you've gone WITHOUT taking a photo?
“That’s cool - take a photo!”
📸 I could make this email about how you should put your phone down because it's stifling your creativity (there's definitely an argument for this!)
📸 I could say to make sure you appreciate moments IN LIFE instead of just behind the screen on your camera phone - again I definitely believe this (see this reel I did suggesting we should sometimes take a ‘blink memory’ instead of a photo).
📸 Or I could ask 'What's the point of taking all those photos on your phone?' - there are SO MANY that a lot of them will never be seen again.
But, for today's creative sparks email, I'm suggesting something else…
Perhaps we take photos to SAVE the memory? To SAVE that joy for the future? To SAVE that inspiration for a later time?
Remember your memories & boost your creativity
So today, in order to spark your creativity, I encourage you to look back on your camera roll:
Go way back to a time you've nearly forgotten, and see what photos you took.
Seek out those incidental, inspiration shots that you took in a momentary second and instantly forgot about.
Go back to a time when you know you were somewhere that made you feel inspired - look again at the photos you took there.
Or simply look at the last few days - what photos have you taken? Can you find inspiration in them?
Sometimes we think we need grand gestures and big trips to amazing places in order to feel creatively inspired, when in reality we can find it at our fingertips.
I have a folder in my camera roll called ‘Noticing / Wonder Walks’ where I save all those incidental shots that I take. Here’s a screenshot of it…
It ends up being quite an inspirational folder to scroll through whenever I feel like I need a boost to my creative thinking. Start your own ‘noticing’ folder today, and slowly you’ll have a huge bank of picture memories you’d probably end up forgetting about! 📸
There is so much inspiration in those incidental snapshots!
What does your camera roll look like?
Can you find inspiration in those tiny squares, documenting your day-to-day life? I bet you can!
"Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday."

It only needs to be a quick task - to scroll back and look at your photos - but I'm sure some of them will ignite a spark of creativity for you.
Indulge in it!
[This is Issue 73 of my Creative Sparks emails - they drop in your inbox every Wednesday to give you a prompt to ignite your creativity! If you know of anyone who may love them, please let them know (by all means forward this email to them!) Thank you, Kxx]
